Coffee in bed starts the day just before 7am; frost on the roof windows tells us it's cold outside., fortunatley the Hymer's central heating system has been working in the background keeping us warm. Our target today is Grenoble, or Vif, a small town to the south of Grenoble where we are staying with friends. By 'staying' I mean parking on their driveway but sleeping in the motorhome.
Today in another long drive, I take the first two hours then we break for lunch, wash all the windows and vacuum the Hymer. Gill takes over and drives 2 more hours then I finish off the day to reach Vif. A wonderful drive through the Bourgogne, past ever-changing scenery, many different small villages and farms, many different types of architecture too. We fill up with fuel and a much lower price. Gill's friend is not home from work, his wife arrives first and speaks limited English, so I get to practise French for quite a long time until he arrives. It makes all the time spent practising the language in England feel worthwhile.
We spend a wonderful evening speaking a mixture of English and French, drinking wine, eating a variety of delicious food including some cheeses that were new to us, Beaufort is a hard French cheese that's very strong.
We finally make our way back to the Hymer and get to bed.
