We spend 5 nights in the Hotel Rosa, having half board. It is before the tourist season really starts, so there are only a few people in the hotel. In addition to our party of dancers from the UK there is a group from Latvia and another from Sweden. The meals were good.

The weather is mixed. During the days we are taken out by coach to various tourist traps and places where we perform English dances. We find all the coach travel exhausting and play truant. We are sorry when the dancing is finished, but the prospect of  being back in full control of where we go and what we do is exciting. We have no return ferry crossing booked to the UK so we feel free to do whatever we fancy.

It is the final morning of our hotel stay so we are up, showered and down for breakfast early. We say our goodbyes and take the last of our belongings out to the Hymer and sort them out, stowing things in their usual places.

Our plan had been to stay in Italy, travelling along the coast but we have had enough of the 'Blackpool-like' environment in Italy, we decide that France is a better option. Before the main journey we go in search of LPG to top up our refillable tanks, we find the garage but to our annoyance it is closed - why they are closed on a wednesday we have no idea. Across the road is a large supermarket, so we take advantage of the opportunity and make a shopping trip, purchasing a variety of Italian cheeses, wine and other things. We experienced the narrow twisting coastal roads and their travel sickness inducing hills when we were on the coaches, so we decided that there was nothing to be gained driving along them again and opted for the Peage - something that we rarely do. Over 12 euros to the Italian border, then a further 40 euros in France.

We leave the Peage behind and return to the 'normal' roads and head for our overnight destination of Cuges-les-Pins where there is an aire set in woodland just outside the town.
